In addition to the raw water pumping stations and water treatment plant, the Authority operates and maintains other facilities both on and off site for conveying and storing treated water as well as facilities for properly handling and disposing of the wastes generated from the water treatment process.
Pumping Facilties
Storage Facilities
The Water Authority has three water storage tanks with a total storage volume of approximately 4.5 million gallons.
Waste Treatment
Wastes generated through the water treatment process are sent to settling ponds where the solids are allowed to settle. Settled solids are transferred to a holding/thickening tank prior to being dewatered using a plate and frame press. The solids are conditioned with a lime slurry prior to being dewatered. The dewatered solids are hauled to the regional landfill where it is used as an alternate daily cover material.
Water decanted from the settling ponds enters a polishing pond where it is held and aerated prior to discharge.
